Robert "Red" Kurkerwicz, 80, of 11600 M-32 West, Lachine, passed away at Medilodge of Hil=
lman
on Wednesday, August 27, 2008, due to complications following his 1 1/2 y=
ears
courageous battle with cancer. In the 40's Robert worked at the local dairies and then sailed the
Great Lakes for 36 years. In his retirement years, he enjoyed plant=
ing
and caring for his orchard, yard, and garden, always looking for
something new to plant. For the holidays he decorated the yard with
thousands of lights for everyone to enjoy. He took great pride in h=
is
home and family. Robert is survived by his wife, Christine; two daughters, Vicki (G=
ary)
Rouleau of Hillman, Karen Kelsey of Alpena; three grandsons, Sean Kelsey,
Eric and Jason Rouleau. Preceding him in death was his oldest grandson, Ryan Kelsey, on
September 27, 1993. He was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa and will be sadly missed=
. Visitation will be held Friday at the Bannan Funeral Home with a
funeral service Friday at 7:00 p.m., Rev. James Kendziorski officiating.<=
