Edward M. Ingles, 73, formerly of Alpena, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.

Beloved husband of the late Marlene (Duvall). Dear father of Nancy (Nick) Reffle, Connie (Dr. David) Pflaum, and Jacqueline (Craig) Brock. Loving grandfather to Danielle (Matthew) Waggoner, Lauren (Adriel) Butler; Erica and Tyler Wiegand, Jacob and Jordan Pflaum; and Tiffany and Alexis Brock. He is survived by his sister Elsie (Edwin) Rinke, brother Frank (Delores) Ingles, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Joseph (Anita) Ingles.
Edward was raised in Clawson, Michigan. He enjoyed playing football and baseball for Clawson High School. Edward was honorably discharged from the Army National Guard where he earned a sharp shooting award. Marlene and Ed were married on June 1, 1956 and they raised three girls in Royal Oak. After 33 years he retired from General Motors design staff. Marlene and Edward split their time up living in Alpena, Michigan and Riverview, Florida where he enjoyed golfing, boating and fishing. Marlene preceded Edward after a long battle with cancer in 2003. Edward moved back to Clawson where he could spend more time with his daughters and grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Bannan Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-8 with a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday at St. Anne Catholic Church from 10 until time of service 11a.m. with Rev. Daniel Madigan officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
