Irene E. Macfalda

September 26, 1938 - July 3, 2012

Irene E. Macfalda, 73, of 9511 Bussie Road, Alpena, passed away at Alpena Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, July 3, 2012.

Irene was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 26, 1938 to the late Edward and Ruth (Thomas) Paquette and married Raymond Macfalda on November 8, 1958.  Raymond preceded her in death on March 22, 2008.  Irene was the owner of the Branding Iron from 1982 – 1989 and also Irene’s Catering.  She enjoyed bingo, snowmobiling, casino trips, and traveling.

Mrs. Macfalda was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and VFW 2496 Ladies Auxiliary.

Surviving are 7 children, Ruth (John) Aro of Herron, Bob (Gena) of Ohio, Alice (Mike) Lijewski of Posen, Richard (Cathy Jo) of Ossineke, Becky (Thomas) Saunders of Arizona, David (Cheryl) of South Carolina, Linda (Paul) Gannon of New Era; 22 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Matthew and Michele Wroblewski of Detroit and Edward Paquette of California.

A wonderful mother and grandmother, Irene will be missed by all that knew her.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Bannan Funeral Home on Friday from 2-8 p.m. with a parish prayer service at 7:00 p.m.  Visitation will continue Saturday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church from 12:00 noon until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Monsignor Paul Russell officiating.
