William James Yule, 80, of 209 Princeton Avenue, Alpena, passed away at home on Wednesday, April 18, 2012.
Bill was born in Saginaw, Michigan on September 21, 1931 to the late William A. and Dorothy M. (O’Brien) Yule. During the Korean Conflict, he served in the U. S. Air Force from 1951-1955. On August 11, 1962 William married the former Irene Kapala. He retired in 1995, after 25 years as an electronic and math instructor at Alpena Community College.
Mr. Yule was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and loved gardening.
Surviving are his wife, Irene; 2 daughters, Christine and Anthony Leeck, Michele and Michael Palevich; and 5 grandchildren, Chelsea (fiancé Jareth Putkamer), Courtney (fiancé Matt Buckey), Christy Leeck, Cole, Jacob Palevich; and great-grandchild, Charlee Buckey.
He was preceded in death by his son, Terry in 2010; infant sister, Shirley; and brother, Terrence Daniel.
Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday at St. Bernard Catholic Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 12:00 noon with Rev. Gerald Okoli officiating. Arrangements are being handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
