Illene E. Hite, 83, of 1234 Golf Course Road, Alpena, and formerly of Berkley, passed away at Tendercare/Greenview on Thursday, March 27, 2008.

Illene was born in East Detroit on August 6, 1924 to the late Albert and Olga (Gerlach) Heussner. On July 4, 1942 she married Frederick Hite. Mr. and Mrs. Hite had owned and operated Hite's Jewelry in Berkley from 1950 until his death February 25, 1990.

She was a member of the Beaver Lake Community Church and 24 Club.

Surviving are 3 sons, Kerry of Portland, Oregon, Bill and Grace of Pontiac, Dave and T.C. of Alpena; 6 grandchildren: Darin, Matt, Steve, Kevin, Kurt and Doug; and 6 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her brother, Paul Heussner; and sister, Linda Tenniswood.

Mrs. Hite will be at the Beaver Lake Community Church on Saturday April 5, 2008 for visitation from 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Jack Williams officiating. Arrangements by Bannan Funeral Home - Alpena.
