Martha J. Hanna, 106, of 1201 Wayne Road, Alpena, passed away at Tendercare/Greenview on Tuesday, July 1, 2008.

Martha was born in Alpena on July 21, 1901 to John and Josephine (Michalski) Bryza and married Charles H. Hanna on March 17, 1917. He preceded her in death June 13, 1960.

Mrs. Hanna was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church and later St. Bernard Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Alpena 100 Plus Club at Senior Citizens.

Surviving are 2 daughters, Barbara Donakowski of Alpena, Lucille (Mrs. Richard) Withun of Millington; 2 daughters-in-law, Norma and Patricia Hanna; 1 son-in-law, Donald Skiver;
and over 100 grandchildren covering 6 generations.

Preceding her in death were 5 sons, Charles, Arthur, Donald, Robert, Clarence "Mike"; 1 daughter, Bernice Skiver; 6 siblings, Effie Adamski, Helen DeBoer, Kate Sheldon, Joe Bryza, Bell Reinstein, Celia Douglas; 4 grandchildren, Cheryle Lynn Hanna, Peggy Jo Hanna, Donna Kay Hanna, and Philip James Donakowski.

Visitation for Mrs. Hanna will take place at the Bannan Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. with a parish prayer service at 7:00 p.m. and will continue Monday at St. Bernard Catholic Church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 noon with Rev. James Kendziorski officiating.
