Duane Earl Diemond, 80, of 700 Donakowski Drive, Alpena, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Alpena Regional Medical Center.

Duane was born in Alpena on September 17, 1927 to Edward and Margaret (Bromund) Diemond.  He served in the U. S. Army and on September 18, 1950 married the former Laura Kenyon.  Mr. Diemond had been employed at Huron Portland Cement Company until his retirement in 1989.

Surviving are his wife, Laura; 3 sons, Wade and Pam Diemond of Washington, Brad Diemond of Otisville, Scott and Theresa Diemond of Washington; 2 grandsons, Dustin and Chace; 3 sisters, Joyce McLain, Phyllis Donakowski, Deanna Skidmore all of Alpena; 2 brothers, Ralph and Kay Diemond of Lincoln, and Glen Diemond of Ossineke.

Preceding him in death were an infant son in 1951, Craig Earl; and a sister, Margaret Elowski.

Private services were held at the Bannan Funeral Home.
