Ethel Dant, 93, of 15618 Beaver Lake Rd., Lachine passed away peacefully Sunday July 13, 2008 at her home following an extended illness.
Ethel Black was born June 14, 1915 to John and Maude (Allen) Black in Spratt and married Walter Dant in November of 1934. He preceded her in death in 1967. She worked as a cook retiring from the Kentucky Motor Lodge in 1984. She was a member of Spratt United Methodist Church, it's Ladies Group, Farm Bureau and Eastern Star.
She is survived by three children, Maxine (Lori) Wren, Sebert (Pete) and wife Beverly Dant, both of Ossineke, Pat Hiske of Herron; 8 grandchildren: Robin (Clarence) Roznowski, Marton (Nenita) Wren, Kimberly (Mike) Dodd, Cherrie (Allan) Plume, Terry (Myra) Hiske, Del (DeLynn) Dant, Kitty (Johnny) Bilbo, Todd Dant, 16 great grandchildren; Ryan (Jane) Roznowski, Alisha (Bob) Needham, Tori Roznowski, Jaime Roznowski, Maritess Wren, Phillip Wren, Sara (Mike) Taylor, Scott Sherman, Sean Sherman, Justin Plume, Sawyer Plume, Paige Dant, Michelle Dant, Spencer Dant, Trey Dant, Travis Dant; 7 great great grandchildren; Kelsey Roznowski, Emily Roznowski, Riley Roznowski, Seth Roznowski, Ava Taylor, Maddie Taylor and Corinne Taylor, 2 sisters-in-laws Winifred Black, Virginia Amlotte and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Dant was preceded in death by sons-in-law Keith Wren and Darvin (Bud) Hiske, grandson Timothy Wren (6/21/08), 12 brothers and sisters: Florence Hall, Beulah Herron, Alice Duncan, Winifred Pomfrey, Thelma Baker, Alma Spragg, Russell Black, Cecil Black, Victor Black, Sebert Black, Clarence Black, and Leonard Black.
Mrs. Dant is at the Bannan Funeral Home where friends may call on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. and where funeral service will take place on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Rodney Thompson officiating.
