Born April 25, 1925 in Cleveland, Virginia to the late Noah and Lo=
uise
(Barton) Cook and married Doris Godfrey on July 30, 1944. Basil ser=
ved
in the US Navy during W.W.II, later working at Abitibi as a repairman
retiring in 1987. Basil raised honey bees and sold the honey for
several years. Mr. Cook was a member of First United Methodist Church of Alpena, =
its
mens club, and the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Surviving are his wife of 64 years Doris, 2 sons Kenneth and wife =
Mary
of Alpena, Barry and wife RoseAnne of Troy; 1 daughter Linda Bekes of
Sterling Heights; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 2 brothers Mill=
ard
and Edward both of Virginia; 2 sister Rachel Ball and Effie Karschner bot=
h of
Maryland, and several special nieces and nephews. Mr. Cook was preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters.=
