Roger Dale Cohoon, 63, of 117 E. Lake Street, Alpena, passed away at home on Tuesday, March 18, 2008.

Born in Alpena on December 12, 1944 to Edwin and Verla (Goodrich) Cohoon. He married Betty Male in January 1969, and she preceded him in death January 21, 1999. He later married Connie Phillips on August 3, 2001. Mr. Cohoon was a professional wood processor for many years, until retiring due to illness. Roger enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, and weekend fish fries with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Connie; his parents, Edwin and Verla Cohoon of Lachine; 5 stepsons, Brian Girard of Alpena, Norm and Joyleene Male of Alpena, John Male of Oklahoma, Joe and Traci Male of Alpena, Bill and Kathy Male of Oklahoma; 3 stepdaughters, Vicky (Male) and Craig Oliver of South Carolina, Thomas and Debbie (Male) DeGrand of Detroit, Karen Male of Detroit; 5 sisters, Diane Steveson of Florida, Susan Compeau of Lachine, Rick and Cindy (Cohoon) Montie of Posen, Lois Cohoon and Gary Bendig of Hubbard Lake, Bonnie McPherson of Alpena; 3 brothers, Eddie and Sue (Bendig) Cohoon of Alpena, Brad and Patty Cohoon of Hale, Matt and Jessica (Sumerix) Cohoon of Lachine; 3 special nieces, Amanda Cohoon of Alpena, Sirena McPherson of Alpena, Sierria McPherson of Alpena, several other nieces and nephews, and including his faithful companion, Boo. Roger will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Roger was preceded in death by 4 brothers-in-law, Jeffery McPherson, Vernon Compeau, Samuel Whitford, and Larry Steveson of Florida.

Mr. Cohoon is at the Bannan Funeral Home where family and friends may call on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Patrick Maher officiating.

Interment: Evergreen Cemetery
