Raymond R. Chrzan, 82, of 310 Liberty Street, Alpena, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2008, at Alpena Regional Medical Center.

Ray was born August 25, 1926 in Alpena to Leo and Mary (Buza) Chrzan and was a lifelong resident with the exception of time spent in the United States Army during WW II. He married Jean Gagnon on August 20, 1949 at St. Anne Catholic Church.
He was broker/owner of Ray Chrzan Realty, Inc., charter member of the Alpena Board of Realtors, member of Alcona Board of Realtors, member of Alcona, Presque Isle Board, Michigan Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors, Graduate of the Realtor Institute (GRI), and a life member of RAMS. He was a past member of the Besser Rifle League, Besser Golf League, and a member of the Ranch Hunting Club.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Jean of 59 years; his five children, Gail Marshall, Jack (Susan) Chrzan, Carl (Barb) Chrzan, Kathy (Michael) Romstadt and Susan (Timothy) Ruth; six grandchildren, Heather, Emily, Eric, Joshua, Kara and Maria; a great-grandchild, Parker; and sister, Esther Chrzan.
Mr. Chrzan was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Nicholas; 2 brothers, Lloyd and Julian.
Mr. Chrzan is at the Bannan Funeral Home where friends may call on Friday from 2-8 p.m. with a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will take place at St. Anne Catholic Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Patrick Maher officiating.
Inurnment: Holy Cross Cemetery
