James Cadarette, 73, of 9654 W. Long Lake Road, Alpena, passed away at Alpena Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, October 28, 2008.

James was born in Alpena on March 7, 1935 to William and Bernice (Donnan) Cadarette and married Julia Reza on December 2, 1956. Mr. Cadarette served in the U. S. Armed Forces and later was employed for 39 years at Abitibi, retiring in 1997. Jim enjoyed the time he spent at the hunting camp with his family; he loved hunting, fishing and playing shuffleboard. His gentle, helping hands will be missed.
He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, life member of AmVets #2497, member of Eagles #1241 and Moose #571.
Surviving are his wife, Julia; two children, Ron and Marion of Alpena, Annette and Kurt Smith of Alpena; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Kathryn, Alexander; four brothers, Richard and Marlene, Dale and Sally, Jerry and Darlene, Thomas and Patricia; two sisters, Mable Lund, Karen and James Rickle; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were a son, Michael, and a sister, Donna Clemens.
Mr. Cadarette is at the Bannan Funeral Home where family and friends may call on Thursday from 2-8 p.m. with a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Friday at St. Anne Catholic Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Patrick Maher officiating.
