David George Bannan, 61, of 1303 S. Eleventh St., Alpena, passed away Saturday September 27, 2008 at home following a five year battle with cancer.

Born February 25, 1947 in Alpena to the late Harold and Jean (Goodrich) Bannan and married Linda White on May 3, 1969. He had been employed at Bannan Funeral Home until his retirement in 2006 because of health problems. David was a live member the the Alpena Exchange Club and has been the chairman for the local Ducks Unlimited for the past 15 years. He enjoyed playing cards, deer hunting and golf.

Surviving are his wife Linda, 4 brothers Gary and wife Sue of Florida, James and wife Victoria of Hawaii, Robert and wife Barbara of Paradise and Bruce and wife Julie of Virginia, several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Bannan is at the Bannan Funeral Home where friends may call on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Steven Hammond officiating.
