Mary Belle Austin, age 98, died Saturday, June 14, 2008 at Tendercare – Long Rapids. Born May 9, 1910 in Homer, Michigan to the late Charles and Stella B. (Pickette) Saunders, Mary was a homemaker and mother to three sons.

Surviving are two sons, Charles, and wife, Ann, Brown of Las Cruces, NM and R. D., and wife, Elaine, Brown of Alpena; one step-son Harold Austin, Jr. of Jackson; seven grandchildren, Lynn Brown and Gary Brown both of FL, Bill Brown of CO, Pam Heatherwick of Jackson, Harold (Pam) Brown of NY, Ron Brown, Jr. of Kingsley, and Wilma (Larry) Wetherhult of Alpena; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Austin, Sr., one son, Carl Brown, Jr., her first husband, Carl Brown, Sr. and one brother and one sister.

Mrs. Austin is at the Bannan Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held Tuesday at 4:00 P.M. with the Reverend Karen Thompson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.

Interment: Hillcrest Cemetery, Jackson.
