Anthony "Tony" P. Fortier, 61, of Alpena, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2009, at home. He was born on August 13, 1947. Tony was retired from a 33-year career as a central office manager at Verizon. He was a friend to many and never hesitated to give to those in need.

Tony was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and was active in Hunter's Harvest for Charity, as well as being a lifetime charitable contributor. He enjoyed golf, fishing, hunting as well as just spending quiet time with his pets, Chico and Kitty.

Surviving are his mother, Elizabeth Fortier; sister, Annette Buse; and nephews, TJ and Jeremy Buse. Preceding him in death was his father, Claude Fortier.

Friends may call at the Bannan Funeral Home on Friday from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Greg McCallum officiating.
