Helen Dziesinski, 96, formerly of 504 Beebe Street, Alpena, and for the last two years at Rolling Acres in Ossineke, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at Rolling Acres.

Born Helen Donajkowski in Posen on August 12, 1912 to the late Frank and Mary (Urbaniak) Donajkowski. On October 10, 1942 she married John Frank Dziesinski at St. Casimir Church in Posen. John preceded her in death on February 27, 1999. Helen worked at the Garment Factory in Alpena for many years and was a seamstress for several mens' stores. She enjoyed crocheting and embroidering.
Mrs. Dziesinski was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Jeanette (Lyle) Vredenburg of Ossineke, Shirley (Craig) Scruton of Rancho Sta Margarita, California; 1 son, Julius "Juke" of Valley Village, California; 3 grandchildren, Farrah (Marc) Easter, Darren Dziesinski, Jeremy (Jodi) Vredenburg; 3 great-grandchildren, Savannah, Daniel, Clinton James (CJ); 2 brothers, Valentine (Julia), Louis (Terry); and 1 sister, Florence (Ben) Ciarkowski.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Xavier, Philip, Otto, and Leo; sisters, Veronica Romel, Joanna Yarch, and Jeanette Pokorski.
Mrs. Dziesinski is at the Bannan Funeral Home where family and friends may call on Friday from 2-8 p.m. where a rosary will be recited at 3:00 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday at St. Bernard Catholic Church from noon until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Greg McCallum officiating.
