Tressa Sue Downing, 27, of 515 Fourth Avenue, Alpena, passed away at home on Monday, July 27, 2009.

Tressa was born in Alpena on November 30, 1981 to Robert and Denise (Corthals) Downing. She was a 2000 graduate of Alpena High School and a graduate of Alpena Community College. Tressa was manager at the Owl Restaurant and enjoyed camping, fishing, and being with friends.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Surviving are her daughter, Destiney; parents, Bob and Denise; boyfriend, Steve Mather; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday at Bannan Funeral Home from 2-8 p.m. with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. On Friday visitation will continue at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church from 10:00 a.m until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Greg McCallum officiating.

Thanks is extended to family, friends and the Alpena community for their support during Tressa's battle with cancer.
