David B. Diamond, 61 of Alpena passed away May 10, 2009 at home. His wife held his hand in the last moments, until God came to take his hand and soul to his final home.

David was born February 24, 1948 in Alpena to Bernard "Curly" and Alice (Drevanz) Diamond. Dave graduated from Alpena High School in 1966 and Michigan State University in 1971 with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. He later went back to school for Accounting and tax preparation services. He married Diane Timmreck on June 26, 1993. Dave owned and operated H & R Block for over twenty years until a retirement in 2006, was registered agent of the IRS, and was well known in the community.
Dave was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Elks Lodge 505, and an avid player of cribbage, spitzer and all card games. He also enjoyed traveling with his best friend Diane, his wife and soul mate. He particularly enjoyed visiting Civil War battle sites. He enjoyed the excitement of casinos, and also enjoyed spending time with his other best friend, Roscoe, his dog and side kick for 11 years. Prior to the loss of his eyesight, Dave enjoyed reading, puzzle challenges, and had a particular interest in forensics.
During his final battle with cancer, he greatly enjoyed reminiscing to music, and occasionally letting others in on a lifetime of wisdom. Dave was a very special individual who will be remembered for integrity and intelligence. Others will fondly remember a keen mind and wit, a man honest enough to walk back in to store clerks when receiving too much change. Until the end, Dave's heroes were still his father and his wife Diane.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Diane, two stepchildren Daniel Donajkowski of Alpena, and Jennifer Donajkowski of Tucson, Arizona, two sisters Jean (Ken) Radke of Hubbard Lake, and Cathy (Oren) Davis of Utica, stepmother Norine Diamond of Alpena, brother in law Dick (Donna) Badder, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many in-laws, outlaws and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Audrey Badder
