Thomas Lee DeVries, 48, of 3134 S. Partridge Point Road, Alpena, passed away at Alpena Regional Medical Center on Thursday, May 7, 2009.

 

Thomas was born October 23, 1960 in Highland Park to Raymond and Edith DeVries and married Cheryl Featherstone on July 7, 2001.  He had been employed as a service manager at Thunder Bay Chrysler.

 

Tom was a member of the Alpena Hockey Association, a coach for many years, and  also was an avid bass fisherman.

 

Surviving are his wife, Cheryl; 4 children, Shaina DeVries, Elizabeth and Eddie Albert, Rachel DeVries, Stacy DeVries; 3 grandchildren; his mother, Edith DeVries; 1 brother, Dave DeVries; and 2 sisters, Jane and Mark Casada, and Kathy Dickerson.

 

Preceding him in death were his daughter, Tamara DeVries, and his father, Raymond.

 

Mr. DeVries is at the Bannan Funeral Home where friends may call on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. James Erickson officiating.
