Frances R. Christopherson, 85, of Alpena passed away Sunday, January 18, 2009, at Tendercare - Alpena.

Frances was born in Alpena on March 18, 1923 to the late Peter and Bertha (Liske) Reekstin. She married Carl G. Christopherson on September 12, 1947 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Together they owned and operated Reekstin Buick Company, retiring in 1987. He preceded her in death on November 28, 2002.

She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Frances (Mrs. James) Ball of Mackinac Island; five grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were one brother, Theodore William Reekstin, and one sister, Esther Kowalski.

Mrs. Christopherson is at the Bannan Funeral Home where friends may call on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. and where the funeral service will take place on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Rodney Haselhuhn officiating.
