Etta Blimke, 102, of 488 Pine Meadow Lane, Alpena passed away Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Alpena Regional Medical Center.

Born September 4, 1906 in Posen Township to William and Bertha (Greening) Wagner and married Paul Benson on May 4, 1929. He preceded her in death on October 5, 1944. She then married Clarence Blimke on September 11, 1948. He preceded her in death on September 13, 1978. She worked as a waitress for many years. Etta was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Posen and its Ladies Aid.

Surviving are 2 nephews Louis and wife Dorothy Blemke, Elmer and wife Beverly Blemke;1 niece Eleanor Schellie and several great nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Blimke was preceded in death by an infant son Earl Benson; brother Harry Wagner and sister Selma Blemke.

Mrs. Blimke is at the Bannan Funeral Home where friends may call on Monday from 4-8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church - Posen from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. with Rev. David Spaeth officiating.

Interment: Evergreen Cemetery
