Arden R. Bedford, 70, of 1070 Bare Point Road, Alpena, passed away at Alpena Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, March 17, 2009.

 

Born in Alpena on August 12, 1938 to the late Harvey and Esther (Udell) Bedford, he  later served in the National Guard.  On February 19, 1972  he married Betty Jane Siess.  Arden was employed at Huron Portland Cement Company, Pearson Mechanical, and Devere Construction, retiring May 18, 1999.  He enjoyed playing cards at camp, working outside in the yard, and hunting and fishing.

 

Surviving are his wife, Betty of 37 years; 2 children, Greg Bedford, Becky Hamilton; 2 stepdaughters, Kenda (Randy) Yochum, Vicki Cripps; and 2 sisters, Marilyn (Robert) Ross of Alpena, and Beverly (Richard "Buck") Francis of Ossineke

 

Preceding him in death in 1992 was his brother, Alvin.

 

Mr. Bedford is at the Bannan Funeral Home where friends may call on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Owen Williams officiating.

 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church.
