Margaret Freda Amlotte, 89, of Alpena, passed away peacefully at Tendercare/Alpena on Thursday, March 19, 2009. Her friends knew her as "Mugs."

Margaret was born on March 10, 1920 in Alpena to the late Manuel and Tillie (Schulke) Patzer. She was married to the late Thomas Amlotte on April 15, 1939. Margaret worked at many places including Alpena General Hospital, Fraser Company, and Alpena Public Schools before retiring in 1982 as the first woman custodian at Alpena Community College.
She was a member of TOPS where she enjoyed many friendships. Margaret was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother truly enjoying her family.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Shirley Robillard of Alpena, Sandra (Mrs. Steve) Cawood of Ellicott City, Maryland; 3 sons, David (Cindy) Amlotte of Alpena, Robert Amlotte of Petoskey, Timothy Amlotte of Alpena;11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Lillian Peters of Alpena.
Preceding her in death were her daughter, Shelby Amlotte; a sister, Elsie DeKett; and a brother, Dick Hinckley.
Mrs. Amlotte is at the Bannan Funeral Home where family and friends may call on Monday (today), March 23, from 2-8 p.m. and where visitation will continue Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dan Lute officiating.
